RADIATING DIAMONDS
2013 - 2014
The paintings in this group reflect my interest in pattern, symmetry and repetition. Different elements are juxtaposed against each other. Solid areas of paint contrast with patterned areas. Some paintings have a frenetic quality. Often, one color dominates and the grid below is revealed through the linear activity. Most of these paintings have small diamonds at the center and radiating lines forming shapes, which move toward the edges. They are active and assertive and confront the viewer.
RAISED DIAMONDS
These paintings are a combination of masonite and paint. They have a larger scale and more frontality as I physically build the painting outward toward the viewer.
