WEAVING AND THE GRID

At the end of the 1970’s, all of the elements of action painting have disappeared from my work.  Gone are the drips and asymmetrical compositions of varying lines and bands.  My work gravitates to a format that is like weaving.  These new works have diamond centers that radiate outward.  They are constructions with a physical reality that moves outward from the picture plane into the space.  They are relief like and several works have metallic colors.
